Pitter-Pattern

Well in my searching into vintage patterns on etsy I found some really cute patterns for super cheap. Now that I have my creation station sewing table up I've been looking for projects. Now I have more then I can handle. I bought all of these except one. I'm not telling you which one though.

Wacky Sacky

So I was searching for sewing patterns on-line today. True, I can drape and make my own patterns, I have the knowledge. However, I do not own a dress form and do not have a drafting table or even pattern paper. I thought that I could find a sewing pattern and just make a few changes to it according to what I really want. What I was hoping to do is make a holiday dress. While going through all the paper patterns I discovered that people that make their own clothes desire patterns that make them look like sacks. Not only sacks but sacks that come from the late 80's and early 90's. Hmmm, I could go in this direction but I would also have to try and find a lace chocker with a dangling metal charm on it to complete the look, perhaps also a Blossom hat would be ideal. I did discover this gem of a pattern. I would like to have a party and hand these costumes out to my guests at the door. I pretty sure it would forever be remembered as the best party ever.

Peacock-a-doodle

I finally got the new PJ Harvey "White Chalk" CD today. I had a special Borders reward for 40% off CD's for today only. Pretty good deal. It is such a beautiful, simplistic, and haunting album. I really like it. Her last album before this was my least favorite and the only one I don't listen to regularly. White Chalk is so much better. I've never heard her sound like this before. The song "Silence" is my new theme song. Which is to say in the imaginary soundtrack of my life this is the song that would be playing to represent my current state of being.

I worked a little more on my hoodie peacock embroidery tonight. Here is some photos. It doesn't really capture it too well. I'm using thick yarn instead of embroidery floss. It is chunky and three dimensional.

Orange You Glad

That weekend went by really fast. Friday night I went out to Little Bar. Saturday afternoon I went to the coffee shop and drank coffee and read. Saturday evening I went to The Staple Center with Amanda and Will to see The Kings. After not scoring the whole game in the last 5 minutes they scored a goal a minute and won. After that we went to a party at the Brewery. I was hanging out by the food looking at all the cheese crackers, and pumpkin foods, and trays of oranges when I looked up and thought that people were dressed rather strangely. I swear I was there for about 15 minutes before I realized everyone was dressed in orange and all the food was orange. I was not aware that it was an orange themed party haha. Today I went over to Lindsey's for a crafting party. I started embroidering a peacock on the back of a yellow hoodie. I left her party and headed over to Jen N's for a girl's night get together. We ate yummy foods and drank wine. *sigh* back to work tomorrow
